Coronovirus

Tickets: Following guidance from the government and Church of England, we must limit numbers very strictly in order to enable social distancing. For the time being, we are required to operate a booking system for services and entrance will be by booking only. On a Sunday there will be short service of Holy Communion at 8.15am and a service of Morning Worship at 10am. Both services will also be live recorded.  The church building will be closed between the services for cleaning.

Midweek, we will also be holding a Wednesday evening service at 7pm which will also be live streamed. On a Thursday morning at 10am we will be holding a service of Holy Communion with reduced numbers as this will be reserved for the clinically vulnerable and the over 70’s. This service will NOT be live streamed.

You are warmly invited to book your ticket for services and will be able to do so for services from 26th July onwards via Churchsuite or by contacting Carol Hall in the parish office. More details will be sent out by email in the very near future.

Please note that booking is on a first come, first served basis and the deadline for all bookings is 3pm each Friday for the following week. If there are no tickets left for either service when you try to book, please email carol.hall@stfranciscentre.co.uk or call 0121 472 7215 option 2 and you will be given priority at the earliest opportunity. We will be booking services 2 weeks in advance. In line with government guidance, all booking details will be retained for 21 days for contact tracing purposes.

Health: Please do not attend if you are unwell or you or a member of your household has Coronavirus symptoms. We are advised that it is not necessary to wear masks but those who wish to are very welcome to.

Arriving at Bournville Parish Church (St Francis): The church building will be open half an hour before each service begins in order to stagger arrivals. We will open at 07.45 for the 08.15 service and at 09.30 for the 10.00 service. There will be a hand-sanitising station in the porch and others within the church building. Please observe social distancing requirements as you find your seat.  In accordance with the present government and church guidance, facemasks are not required in church. However, if you would like to wear a face mask you are welcome to do so.  If the guidance changes to mandate the wearing of facemasks in church then this will be required.

Seating: All seating will be unreserved. We regret that we cannot guarantee that households can be seated together the moving about of chairs once church is open is advised against. Please indicate when booking if you require a carer to sit with you or will be attending with children aged 12 or under so we can make appropriate arrangements.

Toilets: There will be limited toilet facilities available, if you do wish to use these facilitates the toilet in the porch to the St Francis centre will be open.

Service booklets: We will make a small number of printed copies of the service booklet available for the midweek services. At the Sunday morning services the words of the prayers will be projected on to a screen.

Leaving the service: After the service, you will be encouraged to leave the church building promptly and safely. At the present time, we are not able to offer refreshments.

Finally… Inevitably with these measures in place, the service will feel somewhat different to usual, but we hope very much that you will know yourself to be welcome; find the space that you need to worship and pray; and be reassured by the measures that are being put in place for everyone’s safety.

A church for the whole community.

To be a welcoming and loving, Christ-centred community, growing disciples of all ages and living out God’s love in Bournville and beyond
